We conducted an experiment with a cone, a cylinder, and some rice to derive the formula. The missing piece is now practicing the skill thoroughly until you're proficient.

Today we applied the Pythagorean Theorem to solve the Taco Cartproblem, a three act play from Dan Meyer's excellent website.
